Stone and pome fruits are grown throughout the temperate regions of the world; and are highly valued for the taste and plentiful flowering bouts. These fruit-pests are mostly the true fruit flies, including the Mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata) and the peach fruit fly (Bactrocera zonata).
